Over her extensive lifetime Selene has made enemies with a lot of people. Although the X-Men are her most recent greatest foes, she managed to make even tougher enemies in her past lives, including Conan the Barbarian and Red Sonja. More recently (Ancient Rome to be exact) she came into contact with a man named Eliphas Bard and made him fall in love with her in order to make him do what she wants. Although this did not work out the way she wanted, Eliphas bard would have lasting effects on her life.

After run ins with the New Mutants where she was thought destroyed, she resurfaced and joined up with the Hellfire Club and met her newest greatest enemies in the X-Men. After clashes with the X-Men and several Inner Circle changes, Selene was left buried under the old headquarters of the Hellfire Club. Eventually, she would escape and come to the New X-Men and seduce the young Wither into joining her (as their powers are similar and she can use him to benefit her).

Now, Selene has a new Inner Circle and has rejoined with Eliphas Bard who has power of the Techno-Organic Virus, and together they plan to destroy the X-Men and revive dead mutants to bend to their will. Selene has gone to Genosha to raise an army of the dead and ascend into Goddess-hood.
