demanded it. Colossus has been voted Mutant of the Month for May 2008
and he won by an overwhelming margin. When he first arrived in Russia
in the pages of Uncanny X-Men we discovered the fate of Kitty Pryde
and, collectively, our hearts broke. Our saving grace was that Joss
Whedon's resurrection of Piotr Rasputin would bring the character into
the new millenium in a way he wasn't included in the X-Men during the
90's. Colossus has been through so much, even we as readers may have
forgotten he lost his entire family and the woman he loves because he
is such a strong character and like Nightcrawler, despite all the
heartache, still manages to be a human being of innocence, integrity,
and pride. It's probably safe to say when Colossus sacrificed himself
in order to cure the legacy virus and dissappeared for a while, that it
was probably his first and last time off the front burner of the X-Men. |
